Public Affairs Concentration

In the public affairs concentration, you're an advocate for health policy. You collaborate with a community partner and provide nutrition programming.

With the community partner, you will design, implement and evaluate a nutrition policy, program or activity for the public. In addition, you will develop and show media and grant writing skills.

The public affairs concentration builds on the professional practice expectations of the dietetics field.

In this concentration, you will:

  • Learn about community partnerships and create relationships with community organizations.
  • Develop media proficiency and presentation skills.
  • Understand the fundamentals of grant proposal and demonstrate grant writing skills.
