Guided by the public affairs mission of the university, the mission of the athletic training program is to develop highly educated individuals as well as proficient health care professionals in the field of athletic training and the broader area of sports medicine. Faculty, students, and staff of the program support this mission by engaging in culturally rich educational experiences that foster responsibility and ethical leadership; pursuing new knowledge via professional and scholarly activities; providing community engagement through service to the university, Springfield community, and athletic training profession; and engaging in lifelong learning.
