Master of Athletic Training program mission:
The Master of Athletic Training program prepares students to become certified athletic trainers and function as health care providers within an evolving health care delivery system.
The program fulfills this mission by:
- Providing a challenging, multifaceted academic curriculum.
- Embracing the university’s public affairs mission and three broad pillars: ethical leadership, cultural competence and community engagement.
- Providing highly engaging athletic training experiences in local and global communities.
Our core principles are used to shape the program and guide the decisions and actions of our faculty, preceptors and students.

1A. Recent graduates will demonstrate characteristics desired by employers.
1B. Graduates will obtain employment as athletic trainers or enrollment in post-professional education.
1C. Students will demonstrate the ability to practice independently as AT within an evolving health care delivery system.

2G. Students will pass the Board of Certification (BOC) Examination.
2H Students will design, complete, and present a research project.
